Botanical Art Prints Creative Process

In this blog post, I will share the creative process of the Botanical Art Prints that are now available for purchase. The creative process started with the love and admiration I have for tropical plants. As a Brazilian artist based in New York City, this is the way I found to express my cultural identity and my particular interest in plants that are common in Brazil.

Since developing my skills on Procreate was one of my artistic goals at the beginning of the year, I started illustrating plants and flowers just for practice and fun. And I did several of them. The first phase of the creative process was a digital sketch on Procreate of some plant or flower that I was inspired by at the time. Then, I added the colors and finally picked up a background color for contrasting with the main object. That is the exact process of my physical paintings.

This past summer, when I was preparing for a local fair in Brooklyn, I decided to offer prints of my work for those looking for more affordable art. With that intention in mind, I selected five digital artworks and sent them to print on watercolor paper to check how they would turn out.

When I got the Botanical Art Prints they looked so beautiful, that I immediately fell in love with them, and proudly offered them at the local fair. They were a success, and that day I sold lots of them. Yay! And, because of that, the Botanical Art Prints are now available in my shop.
