About Ariana

Ariana Tavares is a Brazilian artist interested in capturing the vibrant colors of tropical plants, especially those native to Brazil. Growing up in Brazil, Tavares was surrounded by nature. Plants play a big role in people’s life there, because they’re everywhere. They are in the Rain Forest, Atlantic Forest, they are in cities, and people’s homes. That is what the artist intends to show with her paintings. In 2017, Tavares moved to the United States, where she is driven by different settings of New York City, such as botanical gardens and parks. Tavares works in a variety of media which includes gouache, acrylic, and digital art.

Ariana Tavares received her bachelor degree in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Estadual de Goiás, Brazil in 2011. Her work was recently exhibited in the solo show “Adaptar e Viver” in Goiânia, Brazil. The artist has exhibited in New York City and in online group shows. Ariana Tavares (b. 1988) lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
