Botanical Gouache Workshop

I’ve been dreaming of teaching a workshop on gouache painting for about two years. Back then, I thought I would teach it in Brazil last summer when I had plans to visit my family there. But, because of the pandemic, my plans changed, and it didn’t happen. Also, we were all affected in so many ways, that I didn’t have the headspace to create an online version of this workshop at the time.

Happily, the Botanical Gouache Workshop had its first class this summer at the Sustainable Fashion Community Center in New York City. It was so good to teach this painting class in person using plants as the subject matter, and gouache paints. It was a delight to share with the attendees some concepts like mixing colors, how to use different brushes, how to create a composition, color identification, and paint together.

We had so much fun on this workshop that I will teach it online!
