Behind the scenes of IN FULL BLOOM painting collection
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been dedicating time, energy, and intention to making art every day. This habit helped me clarify what was inspiring me at the moment, and because this spring marks one year since covid hit our world, I wanted to dedicate the new collection of paintings to our resilience, hope, and healing, and to honor our losses during this time.
In Full Bloom painting collection is all about love, kindness, healing, and grief. It’s about honoring the challenges that lead to growth, celebrating life, and witnessing the beauty around us.
The paintings of this collection were inspired not only by flowers that blossom in the springtime, such as tulips and daffodils, but also lilies, that portray love, ardor, and grief.
The creative process started with several studies of ink on paper, and once the composition was defined, I sketched it on watercolor paper. Using personal photos to reference the colors of the flowers, I mixed gouache paintings and tried them out on a small palette. Only then the paint was transferred to the actual painting.
Each original painting depicts a single flower on a contrasting background, and there are only nine of them.
In Full Bloom painting collection will be launched on May 21st at 8 am ET here on my website, you’re invited to come see all the blooms and choose the one that most speaks to you.
